What I am working on at the moment

I am currently running Edspace - a co-working space focused on innovation in education. I am developing a platform which supports a network of education pioneers to grow their projects, from early stage ideas to successful social ventures.

I am also launching a micro-hotel called OursYours which supports local makers and neighbourhood projects.

Why I wanted to join the Participatory City Global Advisory

Participatory City has the capacity to transform neighbourhoods and cities into places that are productive, connected and thriving - and to include everyone in making it happen, and benefitting together. It is the kind of place I want to make - to live and work in, to raise a family in, and to grow older in.

I’m interested to join the Advisory because I was part of the team that devised and piloted the Participatory City model, and I want to continue to develop, support and build it.

A little bit about my background

I was co-founder and director of Social Spaces and then Civic Systems Lab between 2011 - 2015, studying and stimulating participatory community culture. Including co-editor-in-chief of the Community Lover’s Guide to the Universe; co-founder of Trade School London; on-site project lead for The Open Works participatory neighbourhood pilot in Lambeth; and co-author of Designed to Scale research report.
