What I am working on at the moment

I’ve just launched The Systems Studio designed to build a thriving field of systems change internationally. I’m doing that in three ways; supporting systems leaders through difficult transitions in their strategy, building capacity around how to host better conversations and researching and writing about the field of systems change practice. My most recent publication, written in partnership with Tim Draimin of SiG, Mapping Momentum, offers a snapshot of the emerging field of systems change practice.

Why I wanted to join the Participatory City GlObal Advisory

I watched the field of alternative finance grow from a cluster of disparate ideas to a well-oiled movement and I can see a similar trend happening here. I love supporting fields of practice as they start to gain momentum, where a bit of ecosystem building can make a huge difference.

A little bit about my background

I co-founded The Finance Innovation Lab, named by the Guardian newspaper as one of 50 Radicals- ‘changing the face of the UK for the better’, helping to build it from an idea, to an independent fully funded not-for-profit. A commentator on the field of social innovation I have co-written a book on social Labs (Labcraft), written for publications including HBR and Fast Company and documented the work of systems leaders with  Oxford University.
