Hello!

We are delighted to announce that the Participatory City Foundation will be starting the Every One Every Day initiative in Barking and Dagenham from August 2017.

Working with an incredible group of partners, funders and trustees we are launching an ambitious idea > to make practical participation a key building block for improving the everyday life of residents throughout the borough.

Over the next 5 years Participatory City will work with local residents and organisations to create a high level of new activity. Every One Every Day will work with 25,000+ people to grow a new network of 250 projects and 100 businesses.

Every One Every Day will combine the benefits of peer-to-peer co-production projects, with businesses and services - working together to improve the overall wellbeing of the neighbourhood, leaving no one behind.

NEIGHBOURHOOD PROGRAMME

250 NEW PROJECTS

Every One Every Day will be growing a network of projects across Barking and Dagenham, launching in the borough in October and November 2017. It aims to work with all the creativity and energy that already exists in the borough.

Every One Every Day will invite people to suggest ideas for projects and businesses they would like to create together.  Through it's network of 5 high street shops the initiative will provide the support needed to bring hundreds of these ideas to life quickly and without any complicated processes.

Business Incubator Programmes

100 New Businesses

From the Warehouse spaces we will be running 4-6 Business Incubator Programmes each year. These will be based on a few specialist themes around the interests expressed by people in Barking and Dagenham.

The borough already has one of London's highest concentrations of businesses making and repairing products, from exclusive leather goods to sliced bread, car repairs to jam.  This is an exciting ecosystem which represents the borough's amazing heritage - and a vital part of it's future that will continue to build an inclusive and sustainable local economy.

THE WAREHOUSE

Public and free co-working and makerspace

The Warehouse will be an open access Makerspace.  This means that unlike the majority of makerspaces it will be free use to the residents of Barking and Dagenham.  This is a key part of the Every One Every Day initiative, ensuring that there are stepping stones for residents to grow their interests and ideas, from the first cup of tea in one of the neighbourhood shops, through to regular participation in neighbourhood projects ... right through to making and product testing in The Warehouse for those that wish to create new livelihoods.

The Business Development Incubator programmes will take place in The Warehouse, making use of the functional spaces.
